Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 — With just days left before Tuesday’s election, candidates for state treasurer, attorney general and agriculture commissioner were in Nelson County earlier this week at the Kentucky Gun Company.

Republicans Whitney Westerfield, candidate for attorney general, Ryan Quarles, candidate for ag commissioner and Allison Ball, candidate for state treasure were welcomed by Kentucky Gun Co. owner Patrick Hayden.

The candidates all took turns trying out the Kentucky Gun Co.’s new gun range. Each had the chance to fire an HK 9 millimeter fully automatic submachine gun, and a 50-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun — the largest production handgun in the country.

With the Nov. 3 election only days away, all three candidates were eager to encourage voters to head to the polls Tuesday and vote.

AUDIO CLIP 1: Westerfield told WBRT that he and other candidates are campaigning hard the last week before the election.

AUDIO CLIP 2: Fresh from his endorsement by the Louisville Courier-Journal, Ryan Quarles took time to talk about his race for commissioner of agriculture.

Ball and ag commissioner candidate Ryan Quarles and attorney general candidate Whitney Westerfield all took turns firing the weapon at the gun company’s new gun range.

AUDIO CLIP 3: Treasurer candidate Allison Ball told WBRT Bardstown was her final stop for the day because she had a 3-1/2 hour drive back to her Eastern Kentucky home.

KyGunCo. owner Patrick Hayden said he welcomes all candidates for office and elected officials with an NRA rating to visit and check out the business and take a tour of the new gun range.
