Obituary: Sonia Faye Cecil, 74, Brooks

Sonia Faye Cecil, 74, of Brooks, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at her home with her family by her side after an illness. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a native of Louisville.

She was preceded in death by Frank and Zelma Crabtree; and one sister Ella Mae Fitzgerald.

She was survived by her husband, Thomas Cecil of Brooks; four daughters, Jenny Newman (Donald, Sr.) of Fairdale, Pam Cornwell (Mark), of Louisville, Kim Cecil of Elizabethtown and Tammy Cecil of Vine Grove; two sisters, Anital Arnold and Pamela Jenks, both of Florida; six brothers, Royce Crabtree of Erlanger, Jerry Crabtree of Florida, Larry Crabtree and Chuck Crabtree, both of Louisville, Donnie Crabtree and Ronnie Crabtree, both of Florida; and 6 grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Maraman-Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with the Rev. Justin Hornback officiating. Burial is in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Shepherdsville.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The Maraman-Billings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
