Obituary: Virginia Naomi Gill, 71, New Haven
Virginia Naomi Gill, 71, of New Haven, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. She was a faithful homemaker and a member of Rolling Fork Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Ray and Effie Mae Skaggs; her husband, Donald Edlin; three sons, Thomas Ray Edlin, Jesse James Edlin, and John Robert Edlin; one sister, Joyce Dones; and two brothers, Raymond Skaggs and James Skaggs.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Mason “Bill” Gill; one daughter Byrd Rust (Tom Pugh); one son, Donnie Edlin (Michelle); one sister, Mary Ann Miller; two brothers, Donald Skaggs and Floyd Skaggs; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church with burial in Riverview Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven and 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions are may go to her church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
