Obituary: James Michael ‘Mike’ Blanford, 61, formerly of Bardstown

James Michael “Mike” Blanford, 61, of Hodgenville, formerly of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at his home in Hodgenvile. He was a sales manager for Michel Tire with several years of service. He was a Christian by faith and loved the Lord. He was born Jan. 13, 1954, the son of funeral_lilythe late Hayden and Elise Briney Blanford of Bardstown.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Blanford.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Rebecca Weirich Blanford of Hodgenville; two daughters, Elise (Henry) Lucas of Louisville and Serena (Chris) Hamilton of Bardstown; three sons, Justin (Allie) Blanford and Ben (Stephanie) Blanford, both of Louisville and Shawn (Laura) Butler of Commerce, Colo.; four sisters, Debbie (Mike) Maupin, Melissa Matting, Alice (Mike) O’Bryan and Becky (Chuck) Johnson, all of Bardstown; and one brother, Robbie (Stephanie) Blanford of Bardstown.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 North Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, with burial in the Sonora Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel, 612 North Lincoln Blvd., in Hodgenville, is in charge of the arrangements.
