Obituary: Charles David McCauley, 69, New Hope
Charles David McCauley, 69, of New Hope, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.
He was born June 27, 1946, in Raywick. He was a former employee of Jim Beam Brands in Clermont where he worked for 37 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam era; an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and all forms of wildlife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Harry “Kingfish” and Nancy Masterson McCauley; and one sister-in-law, Mary McCauley.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Cecil McCauley; one daughter, Lisa Downs (Joe) of Greenbrier; one son, Alan McCauley of Lebanon; one sister, Jane Ascencio (Adrian) of Redland, Calif.; two brothers, Donnie McCauley (Verna) of Raywick and Larry McCauley of Lebanon; two grandsons, Cody Downs and Gage Downs; two stepgrandchildren, Ashley Dobson and Brandon Richard ; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Mason Dobson, Madie Dobson and Bella Dobson.
The funeral is 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto with Deacon Jim Cecil officiating. Burial is in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in New Hope.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, at the Mattingly Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. prayer service Saturday.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
