Richard Lyle Sorrell, 58, of Bardstown, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at his residence. He was born May 17, 1957, in Berwyn, Ill. and was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Wright Sorrell; one brother, David Ross Sorrell; and a niece Melissa Dawn Hill.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Alice Phillips Sorrell of Bardstown; one sister, Karen Jean (Tony) Hill of Bardstown; two nieces, Christina Rene (Scott) Greenwell and Janice Lynn Hill, both of Bardstown; one great-niece, London Jane Greenwell of Bardstown; and one great-nephew, Anderson Scott Greenwell of Bardstown.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Lucas officiating. Burial is in The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of arrangements.
