City firefighters respond Saturday to reported fire at Wilson Motel

Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, 12:05 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department, Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Police responded Saturday morning for a report of a possible fire in a room at the Wilson Motel, 530 North Third St.
First responders were dispatched at 10:38 a.m. after two rooms were reported filled with smoke and the walls were hot to the touch. Responding units reported smoke coming from the roof line as they arrived on the scene. Firefighters had control of the fire within about 15 minutes. The American Red Cross responded to assist displaced guests with immediate housing needs because electricity was cut off to the building. Firefighters were still on the scene at the time this story was posted.
