Obituary: James D. ‘Jiggs’ Wimsett, 61, New Haven

James D. “Jiggs” Wimsett, 61, of New Haven, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind. He was disabled. He was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. He was born June 13, 1954, the son of the late Joseph Earl Jr. and Mary Ann Bowling Wimsett.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Wimsett.

Survivors include one sister, Vicki (Reggie) Price of Magnolia; three brothers, Maynard Wimsett and Larry (Darlene) Wimsett, both of Bardstown and Alfred (Stephanie) Wimsett of Lyon Station; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, in the chapel of the William R. Rust Funeral home Chapel, 167 North Main St., New Haven, with the Rev. Karl Lusk officiating. Burial is in the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, and 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
