LG&E truck runs off road, destroys minit mart diesel fuel pump

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, 2:40 a.m. — The Nelson County Fire Department and Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded early Sunday morning to the EZ Mart, 6250 Louisville Rd., after a truck ran off the road and crashed into the business’s diesel fuel pump. The incident happened at about 1:57 a.m. The impact knocked the pump from its mounting and allowed diesel fuel to begin to leak. The truck that struck the pump was a 2014 Ford registered to Louisville Gas & Electric and was heavily damaged in the crash. Firefighters requested a representative from LG&E respond to the crash site. The driver was arrested by deputies and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
