One person injured in Sunday afternoon crash on KY 509

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, 9 a.m. — One person was injured Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Samuels Road in Cox’s Creek. At 2:45 p.m., the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of the sharp curve at the bridge in the 900 block of Samuels Road for a crash that ultimately involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Kia minivan and a Chevy Malibu. The motorcycle rider was thrown from his bike and landed in the nearby creek. The Kia was overturned onto its side. One person was transported from the scene directly to University Hospital in Louisville. Nelson County Fire & Rescue responded to assist EMS in getting the patient up the embankment from the creek.
