Police charge Bardstown man with assault, unlawful imprisonment

Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, 3:30 p.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested Monday following an investigation for an assault that took place Wednesday, Nov. 11. As the result of an altercation on that date, a 16-year-old boy suffered cuts to his arm that required stitches at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
The man accused of the assault, Donald Lee Howard, allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived. Police located Howard Monday at a home at 136 Barberry Lane, where they discovered he had beaten a woman at the residence and would not allow her to leave. The woman had bite marks on her face, arm and body along with numerous injuries to her facial area. Police also found what they believed to be methamphetamine among Howard’s belongings.
The woman was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Howard was charged with two counts of assault, second-degree; unlawful imprisonment; possession of a controlled substance; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree criminal trespassing. He was arrested and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
