Obituary: Jimmy Mattingly, 83, Nazareth

Jimmy Mattingly, 83, of Nazareth, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Baptist Health. He was born March 1, 1932, in Marion County. He was retired employee of Heaven Hill Distillery and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He loved living at Nazareth. He also enjoyed staying active by funeral_flowerwalking and visiting the Senior Citizen Center of Nelson County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eudora Mattingly; his parents, Joe and Emily Mattingly; and one sister, Flossie Downs.

He is survived by four daughters, Ginnie (Danny) Keeling of New Hope, Pam (Donnie) Taylor of New Haven, and Laura Greenwell and Fran (Jodie) Filiatreau, both of Bardstown; three sons, Tony (Mary Jo) Mattingly and Kenny Mattingly, both Bardstown, and John Paul Mattingly of California; three sisters, Ada Ann Boblitt, Mary (Cecil) Johnson, and Sarah Mae (Billy) Devers, all of Bardstown; one brother, Charles Lee (Betty) Mattingly of Bardstown; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, and 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Thursday at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to the St. Joseph Bereavement Committee.
