Obituary: Bobby Joe Dukes, 78, Boston

Bobby Joe Dukes, 78, of Boston, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015. He was a meat cutter for ValuMarket and a member of Faith Bible Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sanders Dukes; his parents, Joseph Clinton and Ruby Piper Dukes; three sisters, Betty Coyear, Dorothy McNeeley and Edith Sigers; and one brother, Jimmy Dukes.

Survivors include his son, Billy Joe Dukes; one stepdaughter, Pamela Kay Minton; two sisters, Mary Davis and Eva Dickerson; two brothers, Tommy Dukes and Harold Dukes; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Boston with the Rev. Chuck Waters officiating. Burial is in Mount Moriah Cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2015 and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The Kappel Funeral Home in Boston is in charge of the arrangements.
