Obituary: Eloise Head Howard, 87, formerly of New Haven

Eloise Head Howard, 87, of Louisville, formerly of New Haven, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic funeral_flowerChurch in New haven. She was born Aug. 31, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph Ernest and Mary Annie Boone head.

She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Howard; three sisters, Theresa Mae Boone, Susie Raible, and Suzanne Head OSU; and four brothers, Bernard head, Joseph Head, Cletus Head and Cyril Head.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Maurice Howard; six daughters, JoAnn Ritchie (Mike), Emma Howard (Mike Cassady), Elizabeth Tharp (Shaunty), Maureen Mitchell (Rick), Michelle Shaw (Joel), Susan Kronk (Dan); one son, Alan Howard; one brother, Julian Head; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; Jeannie Bowling Watkins, the daughter of her heart; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2015, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Scott Wimsett officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2015, and 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with a 5 p.m. Friday prayer service with Deacon Stephen Bowling officiating.
