E’town man injured in collision with parked semi on BG Parkway

Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, 2:16 a.m. — An Elizabethtown man was injured Monday evening after the car he was driving struck a semi tractor-trailer parked on the side of the Bluegrass Parkway.
Just after 7 p.m., the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Nelson County EMS and Bardstown Fire responded for an injury accident at the 13-1/2 mile marker on the Bluegrass Parkway involving a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a Mack tractor-trailer rig.
Police say David L. Ward, 26, was westbound on the parkway when he left the road and struck a semi-tractor trailer parked on the shoulder operated by Danny R. Stutts of Michie, Tenn.
Ward suffered head injuries and was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital for treatment, and then arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs/etc. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
Sgt. Richard B. Jones of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash.
