Police search area for pickup involved in Washington Co. incident

Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, 2:30 a.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Bardstown Police and Kentucky State Police responded to the area of US 150, sheriffbadgethe Springfield Road between Bardstown and the Washington County line to search for a vehicle reportedly involved in a police-involved shooting Monday afternoon.

At about 4:35 p.m., Nelson County Dispatch asked officers to be alert for a silver Chevrolet pickup truck with two males that had been involved an incident with a Washington County deputy sheriff. The officer fired his weapon at the vehicle, shattering the rear glass. The truck was last seen in Washington County on US150 heading toward the Nelson County line.

Police agencies searched the Springfield road area and side roads from Bardstown to Fredericktown. At about 6:15 p.m., the truck was reported found abandoned in Mercer County.
