Obituary: Agnes Louise Corbett, 80, Holy Cross

Agnes Louise Corbett, 80, of Holy Cross, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She was born March 27, 1935, in New Hope. She was a former nurse’s aide at the Loretto Motherhouse and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carmen Corbett Sr.; one son, Joey Corbett; her parents, James Hubert and Mary Jo Donahue Clan; and two brothers, Gilbert Clan and James Clan.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Simms (Allan) of Mount Washington and Cathy Parkerson (Charlie) of Holy Cross; three sons, Bobby Joe Corbett (Mary Lou) and Kevin Corbett (Bernie) both of Holy Cross, and Michael Corbett (Laura) of New Hope; five sisters, Kitty Thompson and Martha Clan, SCN, both of Nazareth, Midget Downs of Bardstown, Ann Corbett (Newman) of Louisville and Melvena Hayden of Lebanon; three brothers, Alvin Clan of Shepherdsville, Larry Clan (Betty) of Louisville and Edward Clan (Rosie) of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3560 North Saint Francis Rd. in Loretto with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kander will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Pallbearers are R. J. Corbett, Tommy Corbett, David Corbett, Junnie Newton, Todd Bartley, Scotty Corbett, Jonathan Riggs and Jacob Parkerson.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
