Obituary: James Edward ‘Jimmie’ Greenwell, 87, formerly of Lebanon
James Edward “Jimmie” Greenwell, 87, of Danville, formerly of Lebanon, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 12, 1928, in Taylorsville. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a retired Marion County teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Benedict and Dorothy Henry Greenwell.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Fincel Greenwell; seven daughters, Ann (Steve) Bolt of Bowling Green, Dorothy (Russell) Hundley of Versailles, Virginia (John) Hardesty, Mary Tobin (Clay) Snedegar, and Nancy Hall, all of Lexington, Martha (Kevin) Kessler of Stillwater, Okla. and Helen (David) Overstreet of Danville; three sons, James C. (Amy) Greenwell of Frankfort, Michael (Jane) Greenwell of Fort Thomas, Benny (Lisa) Greenwell of Shelbyville; one sister, Joanne (Robert) Dykes of Titusville, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Bowling celebrating and assisted by Deacon Joe Dant. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a 7 p.m. prayer service by Deacon Joe Dant.
