Obituary: Lynda Leayn Boyd Bazaar, 65, Bardstown

LYNDA LEAYN BOYD BAZAAR

Lynda Leayn Boyd Bazaar, 65, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Norton Hospital Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lancaster, Penn., on May 19, 1950 and grew up in Woodstown, N.J. She was the daughter of William and Edith (Miller) Boyd.

She was an incredibly giving and selfless person who loved spending time with her family and her pets. She also loved ballroom dancing, music of the 1950s, animals and crossword puzzles. As a teenager she was selected to be a member of the United States Marching Band and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. During her time in Bardstown she was an active member of the Jayceettes and other civic organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Bazaar; her parents, William and Edith Boyd; and one brother, Steve Boyd.

Survivors include two daughters; Stacy (Peter) Armatis of Fredericksburg, Va., and Elizabeth (Brad) Knapp of Bardstown; one brother, Michael (Sue) Boyd of Bardstown; and her cherished grandchildren, Olivia Armatis, Jacob Armatis, William Armatis, Emily Knapp and Jonathan Knapp.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Rd Bardstown, KY. The family will be there to greet relatives and friends.

Donations can be made in her memory to the Norton Hospital Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville or the Nelson County Humane Society, 2391 New Haven Road Bardstown.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
