Obituary: Michael Kirsch, 67, Cox’s Creek

Michael Kirsch, 67, of Cox’s Creek, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born April 7, 1948, in Jefferson County. He was employed with Jack Cooper Transportation. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 57 and Teamsters Local 89.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ina Sue Kirsch; his mother, Elizabeth Cannon Kirsch; and his first wife, Jolyne Kirsch.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Riley Kirsch of Cox’s Creek; one daughter, Julee Ann Kirsch of Willisburg; two sons, Chad Kirsch of Willisburg and Shane Kirsch of Fairfield; four sisters, Robin Finn Keabler, Deborah Tuwell Mattiussi, Marvina H. Bowker and Glenda McCoy; one aunt, Margie Kirsch of Fern Creek; one uncle, Thomas Wood Kirsch of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Adan Kirsch, Alex Kirsch, India Kirsch, Jolyne Gribbins and Amber Curtsinger; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at the Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery in Mooresville with Bro. Tim Lucas officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
