UPDATE: Three injured in early morning BG Parkway rollover crash

Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, 2:30 a.m. (Updated 11 a.m.) — A Willisburg man and his two passengers were injured early Thursday morning in a single vehicle crash on the Bluegrass Parkway. At 1:35 a.m., Nelson County EMS and the sheriff’s office responded for a report that a red 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was involved in a rollover crash in the parkway’s westbound lanes at the 28 mile marker.
Renata J. Penman, 34, was driving west on the BG Parkway when Penman’s vehicle entered the median, struck a concrete culvert, crossed the westbound lanes, striking an embankment and overturning.
Penman suffered neck and back injuries and was transported by EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital. Summer L. Jones of Louisville suffered neck and back injuries, and Eugene C. Smith of Lexington,suffered a head injury. Both were also transported to Flaget for treatment.
The westbound lanes of the parkway were closed for a period of time while the vehicle was recovered.
