Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 — The Stephen Foster Drama Association celebrated a successful “Kentucky Gives Day” on Tuesday, Dec. 1, by raising more than $5,000 for the third-annual day of giving hosted by the Kentucky Nonprofit Network.

This was the first year the “Kentucky Gives Day” event was held on #GivingTuesday, a global day of philanthropy that follows Black Friday & Cyber Monday.

The drama association raised $5,110 during the 24-hour online fundraiser from 68 donors, the most individual donors of any Kentucky nonprofit participating in the event.

The association also earned $600 in additional prize money from the Kentucky Nonprofit Network; $250 from a Twitter contest, $250 via a Golden Ticket Aware for most individual donors in an hour, and $100 for finishing in fifth-place in total funds raised on KY Gives.

“I am so pleased with our performance on ‘Kentucky Gives Day’ this year,” Bill Bass, media & development coordinator stated in a press release. “Our goal was to engage as many different people as possible, and we succeeded. I think a lot of folks are under the impression that you have to give a lot to make a difference, and that’s just not the case. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the high number of individual donations, we had a very successful ‘Kentucky Gives Day.’ ”

TO MAKE A DONATION. The Stephen Foster Drama Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and all donations made are tax deductible. If you missed “Kentucky Gives Day” and would still like to contribute to the SFDA, visit kygives.org and search for the Stephen Foster Story.
