Obituary: Christopher Michael Statsmann, 43, Lebanon Junction

Christopher Michael Statsmann, 43, of Lebanon Junction, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at University Hospital in Louisville. He was a self-employed contractor and a member of the Lebanon Junction Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 23-year U.S. Army veteran where he served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Korea. He was a Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Roxanne Prell and Chester Barnes; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Prell and Mr. and Mrs. Statsmann.

He is survived by his wife, Tonjia Greer Statsmann; two children, Asher and Aurora Statsmann; three stepchildren, William Bonney, Daniel Bonney and Ashley Fredrick; his father, Michael Statsmann; one sister, Donna Ramos; two brothers, Eddie Statsmann and Stephan Statsmann; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Calvin Johnson officiating. Burial is in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
