Obituary: Mary Louise Clute, 91, Nerinx
Mary Louise Clute, 91, of Nerinx, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx. She was born March 7, 1924, in Harlan. She was a co-member of the Sisters of Loretto. She was an avid volunteer with Girls Scouts, the high school band, child literacy and children’s nature walks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Clute; one son, Robert E. Clute; her parents, Charles H. and Martha L. Arrowood Pope; five siblings, Ray C. Pope (Katherine), Roy M. Pope (Maxine), Emily P. Dodd, C. Robert Pope (Geraldine) and William H. Pope.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth A. Clute of Lexington; one son, Charles P. Clute (Gail) of Brownsburg, Ind.; one sister, Ella Mae Pope, of Deer Park, N.Y.; two grandsons, Donald Darville (Karol) and Peter Clute (Tricia), both of Bremerton, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren, Peter Clute, Jr., Liberty Jane Clute, Kayla Darville and Katie Darville.
A wake is 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, with a Memorial Mass 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at the Loretto Motherhouse Church in Nerinx.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
