DANNY L. SINGLETON

Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, 5:45 p.m. (UPDATED Dec. 17, 2015, 11 a.m.) — A man who police say works for Brooks Houck, the boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, was indicted Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury for making false statements under oath during his testimony before a Nelson County grand jury.

The indictment alleges that Danny L. Singleton, 52, committed 38 counts of perjury in his testimony before the grand jury on Sept. 16, 2015.

According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office social media page, Singleton is employed by Brooks Houck. Houck is the last person to see Crystal Rogers alive, and is a suspect in her disappearance. She has been missing since July 2015. The sheriff’s office posting did not say the type of work Singleton did for Houck.

Singleton was arrested Wednesday by police and lodged in the Nelson County Jail. His bond was set at $200,000 cash only, plus conditions. He will be arraigned in Nelson Circuit Court on Jan. 7, 2016.

An indictment is an allegation only, and all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent under Kentucky law until proven guilty.
