Obituary: Steven Wayne Morris, 56, formerly of Bardstown
Steven Wayne Morris, 56, of Red Oak, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015. He was born Nov. 20, 1959, in Bardstown to John R. and Ruth Ann Proffitt Morris. Steven and his family moved to Texas in 1990. He loved to fish and was an avid hunter. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and family. He was always eager to return to his hometown to visit relatives and childhood friends.
He is survived one daughter Alisha (Chance) Rushing of Frost, Texas; two sons, William Eric Morris and Steven Bradley Morris, both of Red Oak, Texas; his wife Carol Vessels Moore; his mother Ruth of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Sandra (Chris) Mattingly of Bardstown and Cindy (Don) Rust of Waxahachie, Texas; one brother. Allen (Karen) Morris of Waxahachie; 10 grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at the graveside of his father, Johnny Morris in the Bardstown Cemetery. Dress is casual, and Steven would love to see all those UK colors. At the end of the service, 56 balloons will be released in memory of a great son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
