County fire responds Saturday for Pottershop Road chimney fire

Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, 12:15 a.m. — Nelson County Fire & Rescue and Nelson County EMS were dispatched Saturday evening to a report of smoke inside the home coming from a fireplace. Firefighters were dispatched at 10:11 p.m. to the 2000 block of Pottershop Road for a possible chimney fire. Firefighters arrived and determined there was a working fire in the chimney above a fireplace insert. Firefighters were on the scene assisting with salvage operations for about 90 minutes. There were no injuries reported with this incident.
