Obituary: James Porter Dean, 73, Lawrenceburg

James Porter Dean, 73, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at his home. He was born Sept. 15, 1942m in Washington County to the late Yates and Norine Hood Dean. He was a retired employee of General Electric.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Lynn Dean; one brother, Andrew Dean; and one granddaughter, Heather Pennington.

He is survived by five daughters, Angela (Cliff) McIntosh of Lexington, Diane (James) Case of Chaplin, Pamela (Tim) Pennington of Bloomfield, Tammy (Donnie) Cox and Tricia (Brian Preston) Curtsinger, both of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, William “Buddy” (Bonnie) Dean of Chaplin, Donnie (Marie) Dean of Nicholasville, and Darrell (Penny) Dean of Willisburg; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Terry Burkhead and Bro. Earl Hazel officiating. Burial is in the Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
