Obituary: Vernon Murphy Brown, 90, Lebanon

Vernon Murphy Brown, 90, of Lebanon, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. He was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Marion County. He worked as a store clerk.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Elizabeth Gribbins Brown; his parents, Cleaver and Clyde Murphy Brown; and two brothers, Harold Young “Shug” Brown and William C. Brown.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Ecton of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and two sisters, Sue B. Wilson of Lebanon and Jean Donovan of Danville.

A private family funeral has been requested.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
