Obituary: Lawrence David Murphy, 78, Lebanon

Lawrence David Murphy, 78, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Cedars of Lebanon. He was born July 22, 1937, in Marion County. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at Jane & Linda Sportswear for 19 years and retired from Morton Plastic Company where he worked as a funeral_dovemachine operator. He was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Thomas and Anna Clarice Mattingly Murphy; one sister, Mary Constance Murphy; and two grandchildren, Amanda Jo Murphy and Ken Stickley.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Mattingly Murphy of Lebanon; four daughters, Sandra Jean (Jim) Damen of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Constance (Darren) Adams of Bradfordsville, Venessa Lynn Woo of Lexington and Anna Clarice (Jeff) Norris of Lebanon; three sisters, Aileen (Ed) Browning and Linda Reynolds, both of Lebanon and Jane Salsman of Lexington; two brothers, James L. Murphy of Louisville and Joseph Abner Murphy of Loretto; and seven grandchildren, Scotty Norris, Matthew Norris, Lauren Norris, Kallen Adams and Monica Dame.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon with burial in Lebanon National Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a 7 p.m. prayer service with Deacon Joe Dant.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
