2 Bardstown teens arrested early Thursday on burglary, alcohol charges

Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015 — Two Bardstown men were arrested Thursday morning following an investigation of a possible burglary in the area of the American Legion Hall, 206 West Broadway.

ENLARGE_01YNN_SS_ArrestAt about 3:15 a.m., an off-duty officer observed two males with backpacks acting suspiciously in the area of the Legion post. The officer made contact with the two subjects who fled on foot. The officer detained one of the subjects as he resisted arrest while the other fled the area. Additional officers responded to search the area and located the second individual near the corner of North Fourth Street and West Brashear. After a short foot pursuit, the second subject was apprehended. He was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for a facial laceration sustained while resisting arrest. Both subjects were in possession of items police believe were stolen from vehicles in the area, and both were believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

Justin T. Rogers, 19, was charged with receiving stolen property over $500; fleeing and evading police; alcohol intoxication; resisting arrest, possession of controlled substances, third-degree; and prescription drugs not in proper container. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant for a parole/probation violation.

Ryan J. Malinkey, 19, was charged with receiving stolen property over $500; fleeing and evading police; resisting arrest and alcohol intoxication. Both subjects were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
