STAFF REPORT
Friday, Dec. 24, 2015 – On Dec. 23, 2015, the City of Bardstown’s Cable TV Programming Committee met for an update on negotiations with AMC Networks regarding their demands for higher rates, an 8-year contract, and the requirement to carry five AMC Networks cable channels in the city’s Extended Basic tier. The committee agreed to allow its representative, the National Cable TV Cooperative, to negotiate on its behalf through the Dec. 31 deadline. If an agreement is not reached and AMC does not offer an extension, AMC Networks programming will go dark on the city cable system.
