ARTHUR MAE “ITTY” THOMPSON

Arthur Mae “Itty” Thompson, 88, of Loretto, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary. She was born June 24, 1927, in Loretto. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward “Ed” Thompson; her parents, James Arthur and Regina Isabelle Smith Cambron; one infant son, Joseph Paul Thompson; four sisters, Monzell Bland, Florence Hagan, Golda O’Daniel and her infant twin, Arthur J. Cambron; one brother, Thomas L. “Nicky” Cambron.

Survivors include seven daughters, Margie Semonin (Bill) of Charlotte, N.C., Sue Bland (Dan) of Shepherdsville, Joyce Mattingly (Ronnie)and Janet Newton (Timmy McMahan) both of Loretto, Brenda Leake (Chuck) and Lisa Bowling (Berry), both of Bardstown, and Karen Brady (Chris) of Lebanon; three sons, Dickie Thompson (Rita) of Bardstown, Eddie Thompson (Sharon) and Ray Thompson (Stacy), both of Loretto; one sister-in-law, Vivian Cambron of Loretto; 25 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3785 Highway 52, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of the arrangements.
