15-year Radcliff police veteran arrested on child solicitation charges
STAFF REPORT
Wednesday, May 11, 2011, 2:30 p.m. — A Radcliff police officer was arrested Monday and charged with five counts of computer solicitation of a minor.
According to a story by the Elizabethtown News-Enterprise, Lt. David Eugene Williams, 37, a 15-year veteran of the Radcliff police, was arrested at the Radcliff police department Monday about 10 p.m. on charges that stem from an undercover investigation by police in Brevard County, Florida.
Williams was suspended without pay after he was arrested, and he resigned from the police force on Tuesday.
According to court documents, Williams went through a father to talk to his 14-year-old daughter, as well as a 13-year-old. All were undercover agents.
In the News-Enteprise story published today on its website, Williams — through instant messaging — described himself physically. He asked the 14-year-old what she enjoyed sexually and tells her how much he loved seeing her in a bikini photo and asked her to send more photos.
According to 25 pages of transcripts of Williams’ chats with agents, on at least four occasions Williams is advised of the age of the person he believes he is talking to. During a Dec. 10, 2010, exchange, Williams said, “I’m actually a cop, but a cool one that likes young girls.”
Williams is in jail on a $100,000 cash bond or $200,000 property bond. He is scheduled to be in court May 25 to review extradition.
