Bardstown man injured when truck leaves roadway, strikes tree

Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, 12:30 a.m. — A Bardstown suffered facial and chest injuries Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of emslogoNew Haven Road. According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, at about 10 a.m. Friday, William F. Coomes, 68, of Bardstown was driving north on New Haven Road when he drove up on traffic that was stopping ahead of him. His 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck ran off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and then a tree. Coomes was transported by Nelson County EMS for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

Sgt. R. B. Jones of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
