ANN HENRY SHETLER

Ann Henry Shetler, 76, of Bloomfield, died Friday Dec. 25, 2015, at University Hospital in Louisville. So many friends and former students have remained close and shared treasured moments throughout her life from her days teaching in Nelson County Schools, performing in The Stephen Foster Story, directing The Hanging of the Greens at Bardstown’s St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, attending and directing choir at Bloomfield Christian Church and from her time living in Bloomfield and Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Ruth Henry; and one brother, Joseph Henry Jr.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Orval Wayne Shetler of Bloomfield; one stepson, Steven (Michelle) Shetler of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Christa (Paul) Gambert of Louisville; one sister, Mary Kay Beaty of Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Sandye Henry of Louisville (widow of Ann’s brother Joseph); one niece, Angela (John) Clemens of Lexington; one nephew, Benjamin (Laura) Beaty and their children Jordan and Owen of Leander, Texas.

Her celebration of life is 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Dr. Don Vanzant officiating.

Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at the funeral home.

She received exceptional care at University of Louisville Hospital Stroke Center and her family request gifts be made to them in her memory in lieu of flowers to JHSM/U of L Stroke Center, 250 E. Liberty Street, Ste. 612, Louisville, KY 40202.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
