Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, 8 p.m. — The AMC cable channel will go dark at midnight on the Bardstown Cable TV system.

AMC-Logo1A City of Bardstown press release issued Thursday afternoon states that the failure of negotiations with AMC Networks means the removal of AMC from the Expanded Basic Cable tier, and Women’s Entertainment (WE) and the Independent Film Channel (IFC) from the Digital Basic tier.

At Tuesday’s Bardstown City Council meeting, Jeff Mills, city electrical engineer, told the council the city is represented by National Cable TV Cooperative (NCTC) in the negotiations with AMC Networks.

The NCTC represents more than 850 small and medium-size cable operators who serve more than 4 million cable subscribers.

Additional information and updates are available at www.TVOnMySide.com, a web site that helps educate members on how these type negotiations directly impact cable rates.
