Monday, Jan. 4, 2015, 7:45 p.m. — The man wanted by police was spotted today in a barn in the 1000 block of Nat Rogers Road.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office reports that Stephen K. Halsey was found bedded down in a barn when the property owner entered and saw him. Halsey fled on foot into nearby woods, leaving his jacket behind.
Police brought a K-9 out to the property to track Halsey, but the dog lost Halsey’s track. Officers are still in the area Monday evening searching in the Nat Rogers Road and Icetown Road areas and following up on all leads.
Police warn area residents that Halsey may become more desperate as the temperatures drop at night, and ask those who see something suspicious or have a tip to contact Nelson County Dispatch, (502) 348-3211.
