Sheriff’s Office: Halsey apprehended early Tuesday afternoon

Stephen K. Halsey was arrested Tuesday after days of eluding police in the Icetown Road and Nat Rogers Road areas of Nelson County.

Monday, Jan. 4, 2015, 7:45 p.m. — The man sought by police since Dec. 29th last seen in the Nat Rogers Road and Icetown Road area was apprehended by police early Tuesday afternoon.
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on its social media page along with the photo of Stephen K. Halsey, 57, in handcuffs.
Halsey had been seen Monday bedded down in a barn. When the property owner entered and found him, Halsey fled on foot into nearby woods.
Halsey was wanted for violating the terms of his parole and failing to report for parole supervision after he was released from prison on Dec. 1. Halsey is a registered sex offender whose criminal history includes assault, burglary, rape and arson.
