Obituary: James Lawrence Thompson, 61, Lebanon

James Lawrence Thompson, 61, of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. He was born June 26, 1954, in Marion County. He worked as a mechanic at Limestone Farm, Lawn and Worksite Company and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

funeral_flowerHe was preceded in death by his father, Edward Leo Thompson; and one sister, Geralyn Thompson Schmitt.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Richerson Thompson of Lebanon; his mother, Wilma Thomas Thompson of Lebanon; two daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Mudd and Kristin (Chad) Spalding, both of Lebanon; one son, James Corey (Amanda) Thompson of Lebanon; three sisters, Suzanne (Terry) Mattingly of Lebanon, KY, Mary Lou (Jeff) Hale of Tennessee and Betty Jo (Terry) Phelps of Louisville; three brothers, Earl (Jennifer) Thompson, Jeffery (Patricia) Thompson and Kevin (Debbie) Thompson, all of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Trevor and Briley Mudd, Cadin and Kylie Spalding, Paisley Thompson; and one brother-in-law, Rob Schmitt of Louisville.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church celebrated by the Rev. Jim Graf. The family has chosen cremation following the Funeral Mass.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joe Dant.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
