MORRIS EARL MCCUBBINS

Morris Earl McCubbins, 69, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. He was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Bullitt County to the late Roscoe McCubbins and Nova Maddox McCubbins. He was a retired employee of General Electric, a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Bardstown Church of God where he was a greeter, and served on the Finance Committee as well as the Pastor’s Council.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful bride of 49 years, Betty Ann McCubbins; and one brother, Dennis McCubbins.

Survivors include two daughters, Missy (Bill) Smith of Brooks and Wendy (Brent) Lee of Cox’s Creek; one son, Timothy McCubbins of Bardstown; one daughter-in-law, Juana Iris (Jose) Torres of Bardstown; his twin sister, Marcella (Steve) Hale of Louisville; two brothers, Michael (Estelle) McCubbins and Tony (Paulette) McCubbins, both of Shepherdsville; and 11 grandchildren, Samantha Smith, McKayla Smith, Justin Smith, Junior McCubbins, Bradley Lee, Sophia Lee, Seth Lee, Nicole Thomas, Zachary Thomas, Willie Torres, and Darlan Torres.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at the Bardstown Church of God, 3903 Louisville Road, Bardstown, with Bro. David Calvert, Bro. Stan Rutland, and Bro Doug Lutes officiating. Burial is in Highland Memory Garden in Mount Washington.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
