Obituary: Dennis Clay McCubbins, 63, Bardstown

DENNIS CLAY MCCUBBINS

Dennis Clay McCubbins, 63,of Bardstown, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at his home. He was born Oct. 13,1952, in Nelson County to the late Golden and Lula Nalley McCubbins. He was a retired employee of Gates Rubber Co. of Elizabethtown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Newton.

He is survived by three daughters, Tanya Newton of Bardstown, Anna McCubbins of Rineyville, and Heather McCubbins of Bardstown; two sons, Chris Brasfield of Springfield and OP (Ashley) McCubbins of Ames, Iowa; one sister, Brenda (Willie) Spalding of Bardstown; two brothers, Randall (Shirley) McCubbins of Arizona and Billy (Laverne) McCubbins of South Carolina; four grandchildren also survive.

The funeral is 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road with Bro. Josh Bunch and Deacon Sam Filiatreau officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
