NARFE hears details of new Radcliff Veterans Center set to open in August

Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, 3:30 p.m. — During the January meeting of Chapter 1050 of The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Israel Ray, the administrator of the new Radcliff Veterans Center(RVC), briefed the chapter on the center which is scheduled to open in August 2016.

The Radcliff Veterans Center will be the fourth veterans center in Kentucky, the other three are the Joseph “Eddie” Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson; the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, and the Paul E. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard.

The Radcliff Center will provide approximately 200 job opportunities to the surrounding community to include nursing staff (RNs, CNAs), transportation, house keeping, culinary and administrative staff. Applications for admission to 120-bed, state-of-the-art facility will be accepted beginning in April.

FEBRUARY NARFE MEETING. The next NARFE meeting will be on February 1st at 11 AM at the Elizabethtown NOLIN RECC Bldg. The meeting will include a quarterly potluck, members are asked to bring a side dish or desert. The chapter will supply the entree which will be a hearty stew. Visitors are welcome. The NARFE Service Center will be open prior to the meeting from 9 to 11.
