Obituary: Debra Ann Knoppe Nally, 58, Bardstown

DEBRA ANN KNOPPE  NALLY

Debra Ann Knoppe Nally, 58, of Bardstown, died Thursday Jan. 21, 2016 after a long illness at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1957, in Bardstown. She was a retired reading recovery teacher for North Washington Elementary in Washington County, member of Tuesday Evening Ladies League at My Old Kentucky Home and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had a passion for life, enjoyed golf, reading, loved her grandchildren, and always will be remembered for her strength and positive attitude, during a difficult time.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Danny Nally of Bardstown; two sons, Nathan (Jessica) Nally of Oklahoma City, and Stephen (Heather) Nally of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Aaden, Holden and Ferris; her parents, Bernard and Susan Knoppe of Bardstown; one sister, Renee (John) Farnsworth of Bardstown; two brothers, Jim Knoppe and Chucky (Susan) Knoppe of Bardstown; and several nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial at the Holy Trinity Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hammer officiating.

Visitation is noon-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, and 9-10:15 a.m. Monday at the Barlow Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Memorial contributions may go to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or donor’s favorite charity.

The Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
