Obituary: Joseph Fabian ‘Buddy’ Abell, 83, Lebanon
Joseph Fabian “Buddy” Abell, 83, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. He was born March 8, 1932, in Marion County. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lawrence and Theresa Althaire Beaven Abell; three sisters, Martha Smith, Mary Elizabeth Mattingly and Hazel Parlett.
Survivors include one sister, Cecelia Sebik of Wilmington, N.C; one brother, James Lawrence Abell Jr., of Greensburg; and 29 nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Lebanon celebrated by the Rev. Emil Kander with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery. The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting military honors.
Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Bosley Funeral Home.
