Semi rollover crash closes BG Parkway at Nelson-Washington line

Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, 9:24 p.m. UPDATED 11:55 p.m.– The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, Nelson County EMS and the Northeast Nelson Fire Department responded Thursday night at about 9:20 to a reported accident involving an overturned semi tractor-trailer in the westbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway on the Washington County side of the Washington-Nelson County line. The overturned semi was carrying glass bottles, and the crash spread significant amounts of broken glass and debris all over the roadway. Firefighters with the helped clear debris so first-responders could access the crash scene. The westbound lanes were closed for a period of time, then reopened until wreckers were able to respond to upright the truck.
