Community meeting on homelessness moved to Thursday at Flaget

Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 — The community meeting on homelessness in Nelson County has been moved to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in the SCN Conference Room on the second floor of the SCN Medical Building next to Flaget Hospital.

The meeting is is a follow-up to the meeting regarding poverty sponsored by Tri-County United Way in December and the Jan. 2015 meeting about systemic change.

Attendance at the either of the previous meetings is not required to attend Thursday’s event.

The meeting program will include an overview of the “Room in the Inn ” program that has been helping provide emergency homeless shelter in Nashville for 30 years. The Rev. Charles Strobel, the founder of Room in the Inn, will be provide a presentation about the program, including how he got started and sharing the program’s success stories.
