Obituary: Eva Mae Smothers, 88, Lebanon
Eva Mae Smothers, 88, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at Cedars of Lebanon. She was born Aug. 9, 1927 in Marion County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Smothers; one daughter, Ruth Ann Hagy; one son, Gary Lee Smothers; her parents, Arthur and Eva Farmer Mattingly; one daughter, Hazel Tharp; four brothers, Lloyd Mattingly, Lucian Mattingly, Bernard Mattingly and J.W. Mattingly; and one grandson, Joseph Robert Hagy III.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Mae Baird of Mount Washington, Shelia (Tim) Gill of Lexington, and Amy Jo Burnside of Bardstown; two sons, James Terry (Connie) Smothers of Cox’s Creek and John Arthur (Shirley) Smothers of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon officiated by Bro. Jerry Albertson. Burial is in the Lebanon National Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon.
