Sheriff’s office investigating stabbing on Highview Church Road

Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, 4:15 p.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office investigated a stabbing Thursday afternoon at a residence in the 1900 block of Highview Church Road. At about 3:10 p.m., the sheriff’s office and Nelson County EMS were dispatched for what what was initially reported as a 29-year-old man who suffered a knife wound to the abdomen when he fell off the couch. While first-responders were en route, a second call to Nelson County Dispatch reported that the knife wound may not have been accidental. EMS transported the victim to Spencer County High School where they were met by a medical helicopter. The victim was flown on to University Hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries, which included a knife wound in the lower back.
