Obituary: Mary Charles (Charlie) Heady Hawthorne, 89, formerly of LaRue County

Mary Charles (Charlie) Heady Hawthorne, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, in Blackstone, Va. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Larue County.

She is preceded in death by her parent, Terrill and Elma Allen Heady; her first husband, Leonard Pepper; and her second husband, Bennett (Ben) Hawthorne Sr.

She is survived by one brother, Booby Heady; three stepdaughters; one stepson, B. Warren Hawthorne, Jr. (Kathy) of Lebanon; two nieces, Debbie Dickerson (Donnie) and Karen Singleton (Stuart), both of LaRue County; one nephew, Jeff Heady (Cindy) of LaRue County; eight stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Chapel with burial at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens cemetery officiated by the Rev. Robert Howell of the Hodgenville Methodist Church.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements.
